, ending his post on the PETA Superbowl ad rejected for content:

As for their assertion that vegetarians have better sex, it appears that may be true — for those having sex with vegetables. Perhaps that’s the only way PETA members can get some. And what about this is supposed to convince me to stop eating meat? I’m not sure I can eat vegetables any more without wondering where they’ve been.

Tee hee hee!

“Really, I think the hope right now is not in Congress to make the right decision, because they’re not,” DeMint says. “It’s just whether or not the American people are going to stand up and say enough is enough.”

found under this post about Tom Tancredo on Huffpo:

I’m a legal immigrant and agree wholeheartedly with Tancredo. English is not my first language but I cringe every time I hear “press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish”.

Making no distinction between ILLEGAL and LEGAL immigrants is a slap in the face for me and the tens of millions of others like myself who did things legally. Please stop it.

An elected official looking out for Americans and legal immigrants. What a concept.

With unemployment at a 16-year high, Spotsylvania County Supervisor Benjamin Pitts said he wants to make sure any jobs left are given to those who are legally allowed to work in the country.

He is supporting a recommendation from the Virginia Local Government Coalition on Illegal Immigration, a group of 12 local governments studying ways to combat illegal immigration.

That coalition, of which Spotsylvania is a member, has asked the General Assembly to amend its public procurement act to require all vendors doing business in the state to verify the work status of their employees.

In my opinion, we have a responsibility to do whatever we can to make sure that any job vacancies are filled by those who are legally eligible to be employed within the United States

Responsibility? Did I mention WHAT A CONCEPT?

Please, sir, may we have some more?

“Well, you’re on in the worst way, believe me.”

Because I’m from Illinois. Because the best way to deal with extreme embarrassment is not to avoid it, but rather face it right out in the open. And because, let’s face it — it’s squirm-in-your-seat, cringe-worthy comedy gold.

Quote of the Day & Jackass Quote of the Day

From the same governmental body, the same state, and the same newspaper article.

South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, the head of the most conservative faction of Senate Republicans, said the Democratic election gains vindicated his hard-edged call for a return to the Reaganite roots of limited government and low taxes.

We have got to clean up, reform and rebuild before we can ask the American people to trust us again,” DeMint said. “This election reflects a failure of Republicans to keep their conservative promises.

And then there’s the jackass senator from South Carolina…

Sen. Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican who was elected to his second term Tuesday, said the noisy, Republican-led defeat of immigration revisions last year helped erase the gains that Bush had made among Hispanic voters.

*SNIP*

Our brand label with Hispanics is way down,” Graham said. “It’s one thing to reform a broken (immigration) system. It’s another thing to single out one group in a way that they feel threatened.

As a conservative but independent observer, it occurs to me that the clear downward spiral of the Republican Party may just have something to do with those in its power structure treating it like a “brand label.”

Just a thought.

This is News?

It is in the PC world of the Chicago Tribune.

As far as Ricardo Pena is concerned, rescuing the Cubs’ teetering season will take a lot more than rally caps.

So at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, he plans to assemble 100 Muslims outside Wrigley Field to pray for Allah to change the team’s dim fortunes.

*SNIP*

Islamic scholar Inamul Haq said seeking Allah’s intervention is usually reserved for serious concerns such as bringing rain to a drought or, on a personal level, granting success to a job-seeker so he can feed his family.

“Usually Muslims do not do that for things which are, I would say, morally neutral, and which do not have any element of human suffering,” he said.

Judging by what I’ve been hearing on the radio, on the bus, on the street — pretty much everywhere around Chicago this week — Cubs fans would certainly argue the assertion that there’s no human suffering involved.

And for those of us who don’t happen to be sports fans? It’s been excruciating enough just having to be around the aforementioned “human suffering” all week.

I’m just sayin’.

From an American worker Wise Blood release

:

“It’s frustrating when I go to some of these places and can’t get a job, and the ones working are illegals.”

Particularly with an economy that looks like it’s going from bad to worse, it just doesn’t get any simpler or more honest than that.Cowboy Killer download

The Survivors psp for president last month.

Again, it wasn’t Barack Obama who destroyed conservatism; it was George W. Bush, John McCain, and the millions of evangelical Christians who supported them. And until conservatives find their backbone and their convictions, they deserve to remain a burnt-out, has-been political force. They have no one to blame but themselves.

And since it is unlikely that the Republican Party has enough sense to understand any of this and will, therefore, do little to reestablish genuine conservative principles, it is probably best to just go ahead and bury the scoundrels now and move on to something else. Without a sincere commitment to constitutional government, the GOP has no justifiable reason to ever govern again. Therefore, put a fork in them. They are done.
