Jake & I just got back from covering this year’s immigration march amnesty tantrum. While Jake is working on getting our video news report together, I’ll whet your appetite with a few details and some pics.

The organizers only anticipated 15,000 or so, and we’d guess that’s about right. Much smaller than last year, which was, in turn, much smaller than each previous year.

We were recognized within about 2 minutes of arriving at Union Park, where the marchers gather before taking to the streets. Also where we were threatened and/or attacked for the past two years. Were they able to resist the urge to harass us this year? Stay tuned to find out!

But officers, after interviewing the father again last weekend, suspected there was more going on than simply a runaway teenager.

This is modern Mexico, where the leaders of the powerful drug cartels are armed to the teeth with sophisticated weapons, many of which are smuggled over the border from the United States. It is with this array of superior weapons that drug cartels are threatening the very stability of their own country. And it’s why America’s outgoing CIA Director, Michael Hayden, says violence in Mexico will pose the second greatest threat to U.S. security next year, right after Al Qaeda.

“Americans are understandably focused on the flow of drugs and migrants into the U.S. from Mexico,” says Andreas Peter, author of “Border Games: Policing the U.S.-Mexico Divide.”

“But too often glossed over in the border security debate is the flow of weapons across the border into Mexico,” he told Foxnews.com in a statement via the Internet.

There are loads of stories out there about people coming here illegally to escape life in Mexico — the same people who now take to our streets to demand amnesty. Ironic, isn’t it, that the very lack of border security they call for is what will allow the violence they ran from to follow them north…endangering us all?

S. Arizona officers on alert after Sonoran chief killed

Southern Arizona law-enforcement officers were on alert after Mexico’s Sonoran state police chief was killed Sunday near the border in Nogales, Mexico. Sonora police director Juan Manuel Pavon Felix was riddled with bullets as he entered a hotel, according to the state investigative police office. Santa Cruz County Sheriff Tony Estrada said his department and the U.S. Border Patrol put SWAT teams on alert and took other steps after initial reports that the gunmen might try to cross from Mexico. He says none did. The report said the gunmen were armed with automatic rifles and hand-held and rocket-propelled grenades.

Here’s the thing about this: it is inevitable that this is going to happen. Not a question of if but when. So when it does happen what will we do?

Extra credit: if you had to guess, how many American law enforcement agents will have to die before silly politicians deign to notice the problem and how long will they stand firm for the American people when “patriotic” groups like La Raza start fighting for the ‘rights’ of Mexican gangsters to kill people in this country?

This type of thing is only happening because we have allowed foreign criminal cartels free access to this nation…

Updated: Border Patrol Agent injured trying to stop suspected smugglers

The Santa Rita subdivision was crawling with local and federal law enforcement last night, as agents searched for the attacker of one of their own. A border patrol agent was struck down by a human smuggler. The agent had stumbled across a human smuggling ring and was attacked after he tried to put an end to it. A frenzy of law enforcement combs a south Laredo neighborhood… Desperately searching for the smuggler who ran over a border patrol agent. “The vehicle made a second attempt to struck the agent after he had already been struck and at that point the agent took the appropriate action to protect himself.”

Don’t know what the legal status was for this sandwich delivery guy, frankly don’t care. What I do care about is the fact that he obviously felt he was entitled to something that he wasn’t.

A British teenager called the U.K. equivalent of 911 in an attempt to escape her kidnapper minutes before being raped and murdered and her body dumped at a roadside, a jury heard Tuesday.

Hannah Foster, 17, dialed the emergency services in the hope that the operator would be able to hear the nature of her conversation with Maninder Pal Singh Kohli, a man said to have snatched her off a Southampton street as she walked home in 2003.

However, Winchester Crown Court was told, the operator could not hear what was being said and Hannah could not speak directly to the emergency services. As a result the police system automatically disconnected the call, a response intended to prevent the service becoming clogged with accidental calls from cell phones.

Prosecutor Nicholas Haggan said that the emergency call recording showed that it was made from a car and the driver of that vehicle heard speaking was Kohli, a sandwich delivery driver. Hannah’s body was found a few days later on the roadside near the city. Her clothes were inside out and her bra strap undone.

Possibly 100 percent preventable? We’ll see. Certainly it was at least hovering at 75 percent.

English skill level lags in illegal alien-packed Los Angeles

With nearly one in three Los Angeles County residents unable to fully read and understand English, the region must do more to prepare immigrant communities for catastrophes, city leaders said Monday at the close of Emergency Preparedness Month.

Clearly there are some illegals who are now stalking and targeting Border Patrol agents on this side of the border. Whodathunkit?

An off-duty U.S. Border Patrol agent was stabbed several times in the back during a fight early yesterday, San Diego police said.
His wounds were not life-threatening. Police did not release his name.

The agent, 29, and his wife were walking to their car on Newport Avenue near the Ocean Beach Municipal Pier shortly after 1 a.m. when four men and two women confronted them, police said.

Words were exchanged, and one of the women attacked the agent, stabbing him multiple times in the lower back, police said.

And just in case you thought that perhaps I was jumping the gun, they’re enlisting “gang detectives” to investigate. And what are gangs now, except paramilitary extensions of Mexican drug cartels, acting on the orders of the same cartels.

So now I ask again: if this is not a war, what is it?
