"A Conversation About Race?"

As Ace noted a while ago the problem isn’t that we don’t talk about race, its that black folk expect to lecture us incessantly without any comeback whatsoever, to wit…
I agree with Ambinder that this was, however, a lecture, not a “dialogue.” Futhermore it was a lecture for white people only. Whites were told that legitimate grievances over black criminality — oh, by the way, the real and enduring source of racial tension — and Affirmative Action were “exploited” by politicians and media to stoke “fear” for personal gain. Hence, not really legitimate at all.
My idea of a truly groundbreaking speech would involve a Cosbyesque riff on some of the real causes of white resentment, starting first and foremost with rampant black criminality and anti-social behavior, and blacks’ acceptance of this as not only acceptable but justified — perhaps even obligatory — given past and current racial discrimination.
Well, in a tasty bit of irony we recently ordered and just received our copy of the DVD “A Conversation About Race.” Link here.
Which we found to be an amazing film, and probably the most entertaining part is how filmmaker Craig Bodeker simply takes the ridiculous arguments of asshats just like AG Holder and rams them right back up their poop shoots, with a mischievous smile no less.
If you want to start an actual important conversation about race based on some of those, you know, pesky facts? Pick up this DVD, its important. We longer we allow the ‘true believers’ dominate the conversation the longer it will take to bring things back to sanity.
