The Border Patrol admits they only catch one in four or one in ten at the border

Border Patrol agents arrest MS-13 gang member
Gang member has felony and immigration arrests, including murder

A member of the violent Mara Salvatrucha street gang, who previously was arrested as a murder suspect, is back in custody after being arrested near Yuma by U.S. Border Patrol agents.

The unidentified gang member, a citizen of El Salvador, was arrested Monday night after he illegally entered the country, the patrol said.

So how many didn’t they catch? That’s the real question.

Not a War?

Posted by Rhonda

Oh, really?

I guess if your religious faith was in a fight for its very survival on these here shores, then that might be an appropriate turn of phrase.

- Rhode Island’s Roman Catholic bishop is calling on U.S. authorities to halt mass immigration raids and says agents who refuse to participate in such raids on moral grounds deserve to be treated as conscientious objectors.

Providence Bishop Thomas Tobin asked for a blanket moratorium on immigration raids in Rhode Island until the nation adopts comprehensive immigration reform. Tobin made the requests in a letter sent Tuesday to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Boston.

The letter was released Thursday to The Associated Press.

Tobin’s action comes during a heated debate over illegal immigration in heavily Catholic Rhode Island. Authorities recently raided six courthouses looking for illegal immigrant maintenance workers and Gov. Don Carcieri, himself a Catholic, signed an order requiring state police and prison officials to identify illegal immigrants for possible deportation.

“We believe that raids on the immigrant community are unjust, unnecessary, and counterproductive,” the bishop’s letter says. It urges individual federal agents to consider the morality of their actions and refuse to participate if their conscience dictates.

In such cases, he said, “we urge the Federal Government to fully respect the well-founded principles of conscientious objection.”

There you have it folks…killing in the name of country is now equated with arresting people for defrauding the United States taxpayer. All in the name of putting butts in seats.

Pathetic.

Agriprocessors: Still not Hiring American Workers!

Posted by Jake

Hmmm, why are they willing to import people from 8,000 miles away? Seems a little desperate doesn’t it? (Possible clue bolded for your reading pleasure)

Postville plant staff sought 8,000 miles away

Pacific islanders who live nearly 8,000 miles away from Iowa are preparing to become the next wave of immigrants seeking jobs at the Agriprocessors meatpacking plant in Postville.

A job recruiter in the tiny nation of Palau said hundreds of his countrymen want to fly to Iowa to work at the embattled plant.

The recruiter, Webster Franz, said most of the applicants are fishermen or subsistence farmers who are eager to make the $10 per hour being offered by Agriprocessors. ‘We have hard workers. I’m sure they won’t be disappointed,’ Franz said, referring to plant managers.

The plant is still trying to recover from a May immigration raid, in which federal agents arrested nearly 400 workers, most of whom were illegal immigrants from Guatemala or Mexico.

Palau and neighboring island nations could offer legal replacements for such workers because their citizens don’t need to be permanent residents, or ‘green card holders,’ to work indefinitely in the United States. The countries used to be United Nations territories that were overseen by the United States, and they signed ‘Compacts of Free Association’ with the American government after they became independent in the 1980s and 1990s.

Seeing as skilled meatcutters made $19 an hour on average in the eighties, odd isn’t it that salaries have fallen by half, especially during an alleged “labor shortage?”

Unclear On The Concept!

Posted by Jake

Remember: This lunatic runs a college, an institution of higher drinking

‘I have a strong bias for the open door policy that has served our community colleges well for 100 years,’ Ingram said Monday in response to questions about the state Board of Community Colleges’ decision last week to keep in place its ban on admitting illegal immigrants.

After a bracing swig of 80 proof stupid he continues…

Ingram said it’s in the state’s best interest to provide such immigrants educational opportunities so they can become productive citizens.

So how many years of edumacation would I have to endure before I was reduced to thinking illegal aliens are citizens?

News I Really Don’t Care About!

Seriously

Mexicans are wary of both U.S. candidates

Guadalajara, Mexico — Like many Mexicans, Jaime Reyes is a little apprehensive about the coming U.S. presidential election.

‘Whoever wins, it could be bad for us,’ said Reyes, a salesman in the western city of Guadalajara. ‘The Republicans seem like they’re anti-immigrant, and (Barack) Obama is against free trade. I don’t think either is good.’

It’s a common sentiment in Mexico, as the slumping U.S. economy and the effects of the 2001 terrorist attacks make the relationship between the United States and its southern neighbor more complicated than ever.

Um, hosts don’t usually query their parasites as to their comfort, right?

Enforcement Works (Everytime it’s Tried)!

Posted by Rhonda

And we’re tryin’!

Some Texas lawmakers could launch a new effort to crack down on illegal immigrants by punishing businesses that employ them or cities that give them sanctuary, if the ideas get the legal go-ahead from Attorney General Greg Abbott.

Sen. Dan Patrick, R-Houston, and Rep. Frank Corte, R-San Antonio, asked Abbott this week for his legal opinion with an eye to the legislative session that begins in January.

The legislation would spark a fiery debate in a state where illegal immigrants have a significant impact on the economy and have roots going back many generations. The state has roughly 1.6 million illegal immigrants and a foreign-born population of nearly 4 million.

If Texas approved anti-illegal immigration laws, it would join a growing list of states that have enacted such proposals in recent years.

“I would move forward on legislation to end sanctuary-city policies, if Abbott says such a move would be legal,” Patrick said.

He said he would focus on employers who pay unauthorized workers with cash and don’t pay taxes, creating an unfair environment for other businesses.

Unlike Patrick, Corte said he hadn’t made a decision yet about pursuing legislation, but he said the immigration issue is front-and-center for his constituents.

Immigrant advocates are voicing concerns over such measures, saying they would tear apart communities and families and hurt the state’s economy. Meanwhile, at least one Democrat is embracing the debate.

“The only thing I can say is, Pete Wilson is the best thing that happened to the California Democratic Party. Go for it, baby,” said Sen. Leticia Van de Putte of San Antonio, Senate Democratic Caucus chairwoman, citing the former California GOP governor who sought to deny most state services to unauthorized immigrants.

“The more mean-spirited they get, the more mainstream Texans realize that those types of policies aren’t in the best interest of our state, and they certainly aren’t in the best interest of our families,” she said.

I’ll wager you, madam, that you’re wrong on that count. After all, it would be more mean-spirited to allow citizens to wallow in the muck while less-deserving border-hoppers take up jobs and benefits to which they are no longer able to attain. So, who then, is the mean-spirited one here?

Cesar Espinosa, community outreach coordinator for the Central American Resource Center in southeast Houston, said laws targeting undocumented immigrants in other states, most recently in Oklahoma, prompted some people to pack up and leave. He said laws that target Texas employers may have a similar effect here.

“If this were to pass in Texas, we might see an increase in migration away from Texas, which might be what they want, but it would be very difficult for communities here and cause a lot of strain on families,” he said.

It is to laugh. The strain on American families - you know, the real ones - is at an all-time peak. Check out the approval ratings of the legislature and the president if you don’t believe me. It wouldn’t get any better if we had things your way.

I mean, if you don’t believe me, just check out comments:

And that’s just a small sliver of the rage that is pervasive against the 900-lb. gorilla that is illegal immigration.

Wasn’t this election year supposed to be about change? Let’s start with border enforcement, because that would be a real nice change!

Last year, Colorado spent $39.8 million to jail illegal immigrants

The headline says it all, well, except for how cheap Uncle Sugar is when it comes to funding these cheap labor programs…

The state received about $3.3 million from the federal government to defray those costs, Suthers said.

At absolutely no cost to you or I? Sure Gomer, sure.

More like, Mexico continues to pursue its parasite like ways! From CIS

IDs for Illegals The ‘Matricula Consular’ Advances Mexico’s Immigration Agenda

In the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, a migration deal with Mexico was tabled while attention turned to homeland security. So the Mexican government abruptly changed its White House strategy and substituted a grass-roots approach that would focus at the local level, seek small successes, and build momentum for congressional action. The linchpin for this new strategy was to be the “matricula consular,” an official identity card issued by the Mexican government, which it wanted to be officially recognized within the United States.

This Backgrounder is the first detailed examination of the matricula issue. Among the findings:

* The matricula consular is useful in the United States only for illegal aliens, since legal immigrants, by definition, have U.S. government-issued documents.

* The Mexican government has launched an aggressive grassroots lobbying campaign to win acceptance for its matricula card from state and local jurisdictions and from banks, especially in areas where Mexican illegal aliens are concentrated.

* The objective of this lobbying effort is to achieve quasi-legal status for Mexican illegals in the United States without waiting for action from Washington.

* The matricula itself, however, is useful to illegal aliens only insofar as U.S. institutions are willing to collaborate with Mexico’s efforts to circumvent U.S. immigration law.

* While many jurisdictions have resisted pressure from the Mexican government, others have not; the matricula is now accepted by 800 local law enforcement agencies and 74 banks, as well as by 13 states for purposes of obtaining a driver’s license.

* Not only does the matricula subvert U.S. immigration law, it is not even a secure identity document. Mexico is not authenticating the documents used to obtain the matricula against computerized data files in Mexico.

* Safeguards are not in place to prevent multiple issuance of matriculas to the same individual; in fact, the INS has already reported finding multiple cards in different names issued to the same person.

* The matricula is becoming a shield that hides criminal activity for two reasons: first, the holder’s identity was not verified when the card was issued, and second, police in jurisdictions that accept the matricula are less likely to run background checks on card holders picked up for minor infractions.

* The U.S. Treasury Department has given its approval to banks to accept the matricula for opening bank accounts.

* The acceptance of Mexico’s matricula consular sets a precedent, making it almost impossible to reject similar cards presented by illegal aliens from other countries, including those which have sent terrorists to the United States in the past.

Early in September 2001, the Mexican government had every expectation that it would soon achieve its principal foreign policy goal — a comprehensive migration agreement with the United States that would create new guest worker programs, exempt Mexico from visa limits, and “regularize” the immigration status of the estimated three to five million Mexicans already living in the United States illegally.

After 9/11, public and congressional opposition in the United States to an illegal-alien amnesty hardened and made such a deal impossible. In its place, Mexico sought piecemeal changes, centered on gaining acceptance in the United States for the “matricula consular.” But Mexico’s new approach has become a direct challenge to U.S. sovereignty — by aggressively lobbying state and local governments, Mexico is changing America’s de facto immigration policy in lieu of congressional action. And it has been doing so while the U.S. government watched — or even gave its tacit consent.

Rebirth of the Matricula

The issue of secure identification became a national concern in the United States after it was discovered that all 19 9/11 hijackers had valid or fake Social Security numbers and 18 of the 19 had authentic or phony driver’s licenses or motor vehicle ID cards. There was a public outcry and steps were taken to tighten the eligibility requirements for both Social Security cards and driver’s licenses. It has became common operating procedure for ID to be required in order to enter certain buildings, gain access to secure areas at airports, and attend high-profile public activities, like New Year’s Eve in Times Square. Life became even more difficult for the undocumented, the majority of whom are Mexicans.

Wanting to ensure that its nationals could illegally remain in the United States with as little hassle as possible, the Fox government turned its attention to providing them with Mexican identification that would be accepted by U.S. authorities.

Simply providing passports was not a viable option. The United States requires Mexican citizens to obtain a visa before entering the country, a nicety ignored by people who cross our borders without permission. Possession of a Mexican passport without a visa would only highlight their illegal status.

More here.

Relevance here

Mexicans dole out sham IDs to illegals in St. George

Hundreds of Mexicans living in the area were given the chance to get some very important documentation Saturday. For some, its an opportunity they’ve waited years for. — Two dozen consulate workers and volunteers helped over 400 people Saturday obtain passports, Mexican ID cards, and other important paperwork…

Irony conveniently located here.

Arrest Made in I-85 Racing Wreck

ATLANTA (MyFOX Atlanta) — Police made an arrest Tuesday night in the drag racing accident that shut down part of Interstate 85 during the morning rush hour.

Police said the crash sent an innocent victim to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police have confirmed the arrest of a 24-year-old man who they said was the behind the wheel of a car — drag racing at high speeds — on Interstate 85 near Union City Tuesday morning.

But his arrest police said now brings up a bigger question — why was he allowed to drive in the first place? *snip*

During that race Gallardo rear-ended a Ford Explorer with so much force it flipped the SUV over, said police.

The woman driving it — 61-year-old Linda Wiglesworth — was taken to Atlanta Medical Center with serious injuries.

But Gallardo got away.

“He fled the scene prior to our officer’s arrival,” said Louth.

Police were able to track this car’s tags back to Gallardo. And his family police said, were able to get him to turn himself in.

During interviews Gallardo admitted to being in the country illegally, said police.

But somehow they said — even without a Georgia driver’s license — he was able to register his car and get up to date tags from Fulton County.

Allan Wall has more info on “how lucky we are” to have Mexican drivers in this country.

But wait, I thought Georgia was stopping this sort of thing? I guess not in time to save these people?

Latest news from south of the border

A radio station in Chiquimula, Guatemala, is airing this ad: “We offer trips to the north, in quality buses, and it is only necessary to walk one hour at the border with Mexico. We take you only if you have relatives in the U.S., but we guarantee your arrival. The people traffickers then “shamelessly” furnish their phone number.

Mexico, our wonderful neighbor, well, if you consider the crackhouse on the corner a “neighbor?”

How this is our problem?

Lesbian illegal alien seeks political asylum in US

A spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration says a recent decision by a judge to allow an illegal immigrant from Jamaica to remain in the U.S. shows how the nation’s political asylum system is being abused. Judge Irma Lopez-Defillo ruled that a 29-year-old Jamaican woman could stay in the United States because her sexual orientation could cause her to be tortured in her home country. The woman, who has only been identified by her middle name Nicole, was originally ordered by Lopez-Defillo to be deported because of a pair of drug convictions. But the Miami Herald reports the judge deferred the order because she believed the woman might be the victim of homophobic violence.

Well this seems like a pretty sweet deal for illegal alien criminals, no? ‘Gee you honor I’m a homosexual from a savage country so you just can’t deport little ole’ me.’

What a great deal for us, no?

Are We Living in Upside-Down World?

Posted by Rhonda

I think that we may have somehow stumbled upon an alternative universe, and in the famous words of someone who is way above my pay grade, “this is how I got there”.

Virtual Fence work halted

Work on “virtual fences” planned for Arizona’s stretch of the U.S.-Mexican border has been brought to a halt.
The Interior Department has not granted the Homeland Security Department permission to use the land for constructing the surveillance towers that form the backbone of the virtual fences, said Barry Morrissey, spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Washington, D.C.
Without authorization to use the land, no work could begin, which prompted agency officials to instruct the lead contractor on the project, Boeing Co., to suspend activities until further notice, Morrissey said.
No date has been set to resume work.

Blah, blah, blah. Same Shit, Different Day…we can expect border security to keep non-citizens and potential terrorist/drug smugglers or just regular, run-of-the-mill POSs out never.

However, the same feckless, unaccountable, mind-numbingly moronic goobermint wants to make sure that its bonafide citizenry are watched and tagged like dogs at every step.

The federal government has been using its system of border checkpoints to greatly expand a database on travelers entering the country by collecting information on all U.S. citizens crossing by land, compiling data that will be stored for 15 years and may be used in criminal and intelligence investigations.

Officials say the Border Crossing Information system, disclosed last month by the Department of Homeland Security in a Federal Register notice, is part of a broader effort to guard against terrorist threats. It also reflects the growing number of government systems containing personal information on Americans that can be shared for a broad range of law enforcement and intelligence purposes, some of which are exempt from some Privacy Act protections.

While international air passenger data has long been captured this way, Customs and Border Protection agents only this year began to log the arrivals of all U.S. citizens across land borders, through which about three-quarters of border entries occur.

Is it me, or is there an alarming amount of apathy regarding our massive land-based border (and along with it, the rights and freedoms of legitimate citizens)? If this kind of thing doesn’t make the average person scream out in the middle of the night, then there’s something definitely wrong.

Coca-Cola celebrates Ramadan

Coca-Cola plans to celebrate Ramadan this year by decorating cans with a crescent moon and star – a widely recognized Islamic symbol.

The moon and star can be found on at least 11 flags of Muslim countries, and now it will be featured on packaging in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Morocco, Tunisia and other Islamic countries during the Sept. 1-30 Muslim holiday, blogger Bob McCartney reported.

Coca-Cola has hired a company named ATTIK to handle packaging, Brand Republic reports. Its Christmas cans are usually decorated with secular-themed images of Santa Claus, but McCartney asked the company whether it planned to introduce Christian symbols as well.

To which Coca Cola (based in Atlanta, Ga.) replied, “not a chance!” But not in so many words.

“In a globalizing world, Ramadan presents an opportunity to showcase the true values of Islam and what it stands for,” it said. “Because no other brand is as inclusive as and no other company is as diverse as Coca-Cola, we have a unique opportunity to play a valued role as an international bridge-builder and facilitator of dialogue during Ramadan.”

It’s a darned good thing that we have such powerful sugary soda waters that are weeping with such incredible goodness that they are capable of building international bridges! Yea, verily.

But I digress.

Turns out they admit giving Muslim employees off for Eid and Ramadan, and that they provide access to halal meats. Can I ask when it became okay for corporations to start capitulating to people who don’t really care much for them (or us) to begin with? One of the primary complaints about President Bush when he knocked over the Hussein dictatorship in Iraq was that we couldn’t build a democracy over there - the reason being is that most Muslims associate freedom with going against the will of Muhammad. So if capitalism is representative of a flourishing democracy, then isn’t Coca Cola presumed to be part and parcel of the Great Satan?

I do believe that once you’ve achieved that tag, then no one is exempt. Just ask Salman Rushdie.

One of the favored lies of the open borders set is that A.) Illegal aliens don’t use welfare benefits and, B.) even if they would welfare is not available to them. Well imagine my surprise to read this shocking admission

Mayor Perez Signs Hartford Sanctuary Law

Hartford Mayor Eddie A. Perez signed an ordinance Monday that stops police from arresting or detaining anyone solely because of their immigration status. The ordinance, passed last week by the city council, also prohibits other city employees from asking anyone seeking services about their immigration status. Perez was previously lukewarm to the idea, maintaining that an order issued by Hartford Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts in March was adequate. It said that city police would not make immigration arrests unless there was also a criminal investigation.

Well I be all go to hell! Soooo, if an illegal alien were to sign up for city, dare I say, taxpayer funded services, no one would ask them for proper ID and they would get the bennies, gosh, color me…unsurprised?

The Mexican Trucking Program our feckless gubmint is desperate to implement will solve this problem

Billboards Remind Texas Truckers of Smuggling’s Cost

Laredo, Texas — Commercial truckers driving into and out of Laredo, Texas now have a couple of reminders that they should not gamble with their livelihoods by hauling illegal aliens or drugs. Two billboards were erected today along Interstate Highway 35 as part of Laredo Sector Border Patrol’s effort to make truckers aware of the Texas Hold ‘Em initiative. One of the billboards is located at the junction of I-35 and Loop 20. It is visible to northbound traffic. The other billboard, which targets southbound drivers, is located north of Cotulla. Both of the signs carry the blunt message behind the initiative: “Smuggle Aliens… Smuggle Drugs… Lose Your Commercial Driver’s License in Texas.”

Yep, Mexican trucks should solve this problem nicely.

Our good buddy LoneWolf reports…

Last night I have uploaded a Lou Dobbs clip to YouTube, then quietly went to bed.

At the time, just a few minutes before midnite, Pacific time, YouTube was indicating it is still “processing” …

In the morning, when I woke up, it was still “processing”.
I got to work, it was still “processing”.

Attached is a screen print I took this morning, at work.

I have uploaded the file again, under a slightly different title.
As of noon, Pacific time, both files were still “processing”.

I deleted both, and uploaded it a third time.
This time I dropped all references to Lou Dobbs and amnesty.

After the upload, the file was available in less then 5 minutes.
When it was active, I went back in, and updated it with the Lou Dobbs references, etc.,

You can watch the video here.

So is Youtube blocking videos they don’t like from being uploaded?
